Who can become a member

According to GGSSA Constitution: ARTICLE 2 – MEMBERSHIP COVERAGE:

a. The Association will cover employees of the Ghana National Gas Company from grade S1 – S5. In line with this you must fall within this category before you can be enrolled into the GGSSA either as a Permanent or Contract Staff.

Why become a member

According to the GGSSA Constitution: ARTICLE 3 – AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
(a) AIMS: The Principal Aims of the Association shall be:
1. To unite all Workers who fall within the jurisdiction of the aforementioned grade and to promote good relations and solidarity among workmen.
2. To promote, improve and defend worker’s interests, human and labor rights and the general welfare of workers.
3. To improve the socio-economic rights of its members and provide benefits to them.
4. To provide the organizational vehicle for the united expression of the views of its members on all matters of employment.
5. To promote social and economic justice and dignity of labor and strive to obtain reasonable compensation for labor.

(b) OBJECTIVES: The principal Objectives of the Association shall be:
1. To promote and defend the recognition and respect of human and labor rights.
2. To prompt, instruct and train members on health and safety needs.
3. To improve the working relationships between employees and employers.
4. To improve members’ conditions through negotiation and collective bargaining.
5. To promote good and amicable relations among members and other workers and between members and management.
6. To foster the spirit of patriotism, civic responsibility and the highest quality of work culture among its members and to support national effort at economic and social development through efficient workmanship.

How to become a member

The online form follows these steps;

1. A new member fills out the forms, signs and submits the form online. An email is sent to the GGSSA Secretariat and the new member is updated on the status of his/her enrolment.
2. The GGSSA Secretariat signs off accordingly on the official section of the form after all checks on the new member is valid.
3. The new member and the GGSSA Secretariat receive a final email of the endorsed forms after he/she has been successfully enrolled.

How to withdraw your membership

A member shall give not less than three (3) months’ notice of withdrawal from membership with the exception of resignation from the company. Financial obligations shall not cease before the expiration of such notice. The notice shall be in the form of email or letter to the GGSSA Secretariat.
